Is it possible to find peace in this crazy world?
Hi Reader! Is it possible to have peace in this world? I don't like when people are unnecessarily stressed. I actually find it irksome. This is probably a place I should grow in charity but that's a topic for another day! Jesus said there would be trouble, but he also promised peace. The peace that comes with Jesus is not dependent upon circumstances. Jesus said:"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid." -John 14:27 and: "I have told you this so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world.” -John 16:33 Have you been stressed or lacking in peace lately? We all get hit with it at one point or another. How to find peace regardless of circumstancesTake a deep breath in. Let it out slowly. You know how people talk about all the benefits to daily meditation? People of prayer have known this for thousands of years! (Improvements in stress, anxiety, depression, sleep, pain, high blood pressure, weight management and eating habits, ADHD, cancer, substance use disorder, post traumatic stress disorder.) Plus, the benefit of getting to intimately know the living God. To learn his voice so you can discern his voice from others'. And to know that your worth comes from your identity as a daughter of God. One of the best ways to get breastfeeding off to a good start also works to reduce stress.Hold your baby skin to skin after delivery. Right after your sweet little one is born, he or she should be placed right on your bare chest. This special, unique, once in a life-time opportunity is often referred to as the golden hour. Being placed skin to skin on your chest, with the lights dim and voices calm, helps your baby transition into life outside of your body. This is a huge change for him! Being skin to skin with you helps to regulate his blood sugar, temperature, and respiratory rate. It helps him to cry less, even later when he is no longer being held skin to skin. It helps you, mama, to make more milk. It changes your brain to be more attached to him. When dad holds baby skin to skin it changes dad's brain, also! Oh, and it helps baby to latch better. AND these are only the benefits of STS that we know about. After learning about the immense number of things that are so awesomely designed by God I imagine there are many more bodily functions that are affected when you hold your baby skin to skin.
